United States Geological Survey (USGS)
The USGS website is a source for all types of map-related information. There are maps related to climate, maps of Mars, geologic maps, earthquakes, and detailed maps of the entire United States. (Some are so detailed that individual houses may be visible.) Data sets for creating your own maps are also available.

National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
Information on weather and climate, fisheries, satellites, the ocean, coastal areas, and mapping and navigation. There are also news articles, special features, and pictures, maps, and data available to download.
Especially for teachers and students.
