Gathering Bibliographic Information

BOOKS
For each book you use, photocopy the title page and the back of the title page (also called the verso). Everything you need will be there. If you photocopy the pages of a reference book, staple the pages together with the title page and the verso to keep your information organized.

ONLINE SOURCES
For each online source you use, print the first page, which will have the URL, the title and the date you accessed the page. You may need to do some detective work to find the author and/or the name of the organization responsible for a web page. Some online sources (Britannica Online, Biography Resource Center, and others) provide you with the bibliographic citation at the end of the article. You may copy this citation to use in your bibliography!

If you use the web sites on the Fay Library Upper School Links page, you can be sure you have accurate information.

If you use a search engine (like Google) do a Web Site Evaluation to be sure that the information you find is accurate.
